Interpretation of the Principles of Psychology by William James

The principles of the science of this book localized brain functions, how it began to recognize that every human being has a center of sensation and nervous status and how their sources and responsibility for sensory movements vary in different brain centers.

In addition to the special hypotheses and observations on which James relied, it is now very dated, but the broader conclusion of his material is still valid the functions responsible for brain centers, which consequently have become increasingly specialized with human movement from reptiles and other mammals and the evolution of intelligence from time to time, and for humans, brain functions themselves become more flexible and less localized when one moves along oneself in the chain.

James also discussed visual and auditory experiments and provided a physiological explanation for many of them, including that the brain reacts through pathways worn by previous experiments, and makes us realize what is possible, anything that has often triggered illusions on previous occasions, a particular case of habit in this case.

Using the comparison method, James wrote that man is different from the lower creatures in total almost as much as other creatures of plants and animals.

James believes that humans were much more motivated than other creatures, which when observed outside their larger context, may seem just as spontaneous as the simplest instincts of animals, yet when humans test the results of their pulses and these experiments evoke memories and expectations.

Those same impulses became pure and gradual and through this logic James came to the conclusion that in any animal with the ability to remember, bond and expect behavior is ultimately expressed as a combination of instinct and experience together and not just a blind instinct alone.

Principles of Psychology:

stream of consciousness:

It can be said that the stream of consciousness is one of the most famous types of psychological metaphor for James and argued that human thought can be described as a flowing current that was an innovative concept at the time because of the previous argument, that human thought was more like a distinctive chain and also believed that humans could never experience the same idea or idea itself more than once in addition saw that awareness was quite continuous.

liberation of emotion:

James introduced a new theory of emotion, later known as James  theory, which argued that emotion is a result, not a cause of the physical experiences associated with its expression, in other words, causes a physical response and follows responsive emotions. This theory has received criticism over the years since its introduction but regardless still has many advantages.

Habit modification:

Human habits are constantly shaped to achieve certain results because of feelings that one strongly desires or desires for something; James emphasized the importance and strength of human habit and proceeded with a conclusion that the laws of the formation of the habit are unbiased and habits are able to cause good or bad actions and once a new or bad habit begins, it becomes very difficult to change.

The ability to liberate:

It is one of the last chapters of the principles of psychology in which James says that the experiences of the special personality in life there was one question that bothered James during his crisis: whether free will existed or not and that achievement was the title of will and the most important.

The principles of psychology were a highly influential book summarizing the field of psychology at the time of its publication and psychology began from the beginning of its introduction to gain a popular fame unprecedented as a new and unknown field that no one had reached before James.

He was praised by the United States of America at this time and compiled these principles into a textbook taught to students in schools that solidity's the credibility of psychology as a science, and the philosopher Helmut Wagons wrote that most of the contents of the book are now outdated but at the same time still contain the principles from which all scholars and philosophers of this period draw and contain important insights to refer to as an important reference.

In areas outside psychology, the book also had a significant impact, and the philosopher Edmund Husserl deals particularly with William James's work in many fields, which affects many of the phenomena followed by scientists.

subconscious:

Unconscious psychological processes work that people should have awareness of their ideas that affect them and there are many ideas that occur in our brains and work to reduce awareness of us and our personalities Personality traits indicate stability and psychological consistency, and it is expected that a person who scores high in a specific feature represents a case of mass coup d'état, as stated in the interpretations of scientists after William James.

There is no doubt that the principles of psychology that the world and Dr. William James began to work to educate human beings to everything that goes on in the mysteries of the human soul and the importance of this and work to raise awareness of what the human being feels and the strangeness and wonders of the human soul which has greatly affected human life later and their understanding of the feelings and contradictions that occur within the human being, which often and because of lack of understanding lead to To major mental illnesses that affect his life and the lives of those around him and if it were not for these psychological discoveries psychology and psychiatry would not have evolved and contributed to the treatment of many difficult mental illnesses.
